League Two Play-off Final Tips | 28th May 2018

Ross Casey looks at the best bets available for Monday’s League Two play-off final at Wembley between Coventry and Exeter.

Coventry v Exeter | Monday 28th May 2018, 15:00 | Sky Sports

Coventry ended the campaign in sixth and had to beat an impressive Notts County to seal their spot in this Wembley showpiece. After a frustrating first leg on home soil at the Ricoh Arena, which saw a controversial penalty awarded to the Sky Blues to claim a 1-1 draw, Coventry kicked on in the second leg to ease through 5-2 on aggregate in the away fixture.

With Exeter losing the final last season you can argue that the experience will be a positive or a negative for Exeter, but this Coventry side have already tasted Wembley success with their Football League Trophy win last season. Add to the fact that Exeter have the Paul Tisdale to MK Dons distraction and I feel that the Sky Blues will be the ones to gain promotion on Monday.

Anytime Goalscorer

Marc McNulty is easily the biggest threat for Coventry and his 23 league goals prove that. He has 28 in all competitions and arrives into this fixture in good goalscoring form, netting in both legs against Notts County in their semi-finals.

The first of which was the aforementioned controversial penalty – so he is on penalty duty for the Sky Blues which is also a plus when backing an anytime goalscorer. He only played in one game against Exeter in the regular season after missing the home tie where the Sky Blues won, but as I am backing a Coventry win I have to also bacxk McNulty to score as he is their top scorer and big goal threat.
