Racing expert Graeme Johnston is on hand to pick his best bets from Saturday’s meetings.

The Kingmaker Chase is a Grade 2 novice chase and as seems to be the case with most races these days has attracted a small field. Only one can be written off in this but I like the look of one at a generous price.

Two Taff’s won two novice hurdles last season over two and a half miles and was expected to improve for the switch to fences.

After a promising debut he was turned over at very short odds and comes here on a recovery mission. He was very keen that day and on soft ground on a stiff track this could he his ideal conditions.

Gino Trail brings in good form however he is 10 years old already and you have to question if he is progressive still. Knockgraffon also brings solid form in to the race but both have to concede weight to my selection and given the conditions of the race I expect Two Taff’s to run a mighty race here.

A 2 mile Mares Listed chase and this is a very good little race. Though there are higher class encounters happening throughout the day this is well worth watching and I’m really sweet on one.

Like many of his string Listen Dear has been expertly placed by Willie Mullins and has racked up six wins on the spin over hurdles and fences. She is a classy mare however she is meeting a rival here who has the potential to be a little bit better.

Slowmotion is making just her 8th start in Ireland and last season was sent off just 2/1 to win a Grade 1. She is highly thought of and broke her maiden over fences last time out.

She won cosily there and I fully expect her to improve for that. She has to continue her progression to win here but I plan to back her to get the better of Listen Dear in this.
