Noel Fehily’s Blog | 31st March 2018
It’s a fairly quiet weekend for me so it’s not my biggest blog of the season that’s for sure.
Well earned Easter rest
It was nice to have the day off yesterday on Good Friday to take my mind off things. The Flat boys were obviously in action at Lingfield and Bath but I’d be very much against introducing jump racing to Good Friday. There’s already too much racing and there’s no need for more at that time of year.
100 Not Out
I landed my 100th winner of the season last Saturday on bumper winner Caribert. He’s one to look forward to next season when he’ll go novice hurdling. Fingers crossed he makes an impression. It was very satisfying getting the century up for sure and it’s a real milestone for me. It signifies that my form is good this season and that I’ve remained major injury free, for that I’m thankful.
Cue Card call makes sense
I see Cue Card will run at Sandown in his final race on the last day of the season. What a brilliant decision. There will be a massive crowd there at the Esher track with lots of prizegiving going on so Cue Card’s exit from the sport will get the attention it very much deserves. Win, lose or draw that day he’ll get a huge reception.
Just a couple of rides for me on Saturday at Haydock…
I don’t know much about him to be honest as I’ve never ridden him but looking at his form I think he’ll have a bit ton find here to go close in this contest.
The rain has come and that is good news for her. She ran very well at Exeter last time out and I think she’ll build on that and post a good effort. The more rain, the better.
