Many were wondering how it could get any worse for Argentina after their 1-1 draw with Iceland. It could – Croatia rubbed salt into Argentinean wounds as they battered them 3-0. It was a defensive horror show and leaves Lionel Messi and co on just one point after two games.

The Nigerians, on the other hand, were superb in their 2-0 victory over Iceland and it was Leicester City forward Ahmed Musa who bagged a brace for his country. They’re now in a great position to qualify from Group C but need to avoid defeat here.

Nigeria to score

If you watched both Argentina’s and Nigeria’s most recent matches, you’ll know that the 5/1 available on Nigeria looks like terrific value.

Nicolas Otamendi and Marcos Rojo looked disorganised and lacked any pace, whilst the Argentinean midfield failed to track-back and left gaping holes in the midfield. This is something that a quick and energetic Nigeria frontline will relish playing against. Victor Moses, Ahmed Musa and Kelechi Iheanacho caused Iceland lots of problems on Friday and I can see them doing the same to Argentina.

Jorge Sampaoli’s side conceded 16 goals in 19 games during their World Cup qualification and Nigeria failed to score in just 1/8 (13%) of their games in qualifying. So, the 97/100 on Nigeria to score 0.5 goals could be a good
