World Cup 2018 | Senegal v Japan Tips | 24th June 2018
THE World Cup second round group matches concludes on Sunday, including when Japan face Senegal in Group H. Our man Ross Casey offers his betting preview and tips.
Senegal are favourites to win here with a price of 5/4. They have a very good recent record – losing just two of their last 19 matches heading into this game against Japan. At that price and boasting the dynamic Sadio Mane in attack, there will be plenty going with the market in this one, I feel.
Japan headed into this group as probably the least fancied nation, but thanks to a second minute red card to Colombia they came away with an unexpected win and now are likely one win from qualification!
Who will come out on top of this clash between two winners from the opening games of Group H?
Senegal Double Chance & Under 2.5 Goals
I think under 2.5 Goals and Senegal double chance at 5/6 is a decent enough price here in the double chance Over/Under market, meaning less than three goals scored and Senegal not to lose will see us get a winner.
I don’t fancy Japan to take another three points here, it was only the sending off that saw them win their match against Colombia in my opinion, they had lost four of their previous six before that win! Senegal on the other hand have lost just two in 19 so that covers that side of the selection.
Then the under 2.5 goals. I am looking at that as seven of the last 11 Senegal matches followed that trend and with both sides having something to lose here after picking up wins in their opening games. That to me says that this will be played with caution and I am expecting a low scoring game.
