World Matchplay Darts 2018 | Four To Follow

The Sky cameras take us to Blackpool’s Winter Gardens for the 2018 World Matchplay. The event kicks-off on Saturday, and Ben Levene outlines four big-priced players who could outperform their odds.

World Matchplay | 21st July 2018 – 29th July 2018 | Sky Sports

James Wade each-way (33/1)

With the wealth of talent pigeonholed into the top-half of the draw, The Machine looks the bet of the tournament in Blackpool.

Wade has enjoyed a brilliant 2018, reaching three-finals and five semi-finals. Earlier this month he beat Michael Van Gerwen 8-3.

He has a fantastic record in Blackpool, reaching the final-four in eight of the last 12 years.

Ian White each-way (80/1)

Ian White has never produced his best on TV, but if he can over the next few weeks, then 80/1 is a steal.

The Diamond has produced a higher seasonal floor average than any other player he can meet before the final. He’s won two titles this year, and could put together a strong showing.

Keep an eye…

If each-way betting isn’t your thing, but you still want some big prices to follow, consider these two longshots to win their quarters.

Steve West to win the 2nd Quarter (22/1)

Steve West has reached the semi-final of the last two stage events his competed in. At Ally Pally in December he reached the quarter-final, and he has the game to put a run together once again at a big price.

Darren Webster to win the 4th Quarter (12/1)

The Demolition Man reached the quarter-finals here 12-months-ago and would go on to achieve the same feat at Ally Pally in December.

He’s reached two finals and a semi-final in 22 floor events this year. Webster is a capable customer in the weaker half of the draw.
